Danielle and Jeremy's Wedding: Photo Album

Danielle and Jeremy have a photo album hosted on this site.

You can add your pictures to this album for all to see.

Directions:
1- Go to the Photo Album
2- Click 'Add Pictures'
3- Make sure the user name is 'DanielleAndJeremy'
4- Click the browse button and select the 'GIF' or 'JPG' image from your computer
5- Make sure the section is 'Wedding'
6- Type a short and long description.
7- Click 'Upload File'

You can go back to the photo album to see your new pictures. Please let Andy know if you have any problems.

Having problems?
1- Make sure your images are either GIF, JPEG, or JPG formats.
2- Are your pictures very big? (>200K). Try shrinking them before uploading.
3- Avoid using ampersands or quotes in your descriptions. The photo album is home grown and somewhat tempermental.

Frequently asked questions:
Q: I want to add a picture of a Hurlburt, but the photo album says 'Galland Family Photo Album'. Who is this Galland guy?
A: Galland is the groom's side of the wedding. Although the original intent of the photo album was to be for Galland's only, it has since expanded. Please feel free to add Hurlburt pictures.

Q: I found a bug in the Photo Album. Should I tell Jeremy, Danielle, or someone else?
A: Both Jeremy and Danielle will most likely look at you somewhat askew if you go into the details. Try telling Andy.

Q: My pictures seem to upload fine, but then they aren't there! Who messed up and can I beat them up?
A: Back when the author of the photo album was a wee tyke, he didn't understand database character limitations. Now that he is older and has a DBA ( DataBase Administrator ) in his office, he realizes the error in his ways. He has already beaten himself up enough, so here are the limits you will have to live with:
UserNames: 20 characters
Passwords: 30 characters
Section Names: 20 characters
Short Descriptions: 100 characters
Long Descriptions: 200 characters
Family Member list: 50 characters

Q: How do I make my pictures come up quicker?
A: If your image is larger than 100 kilobytes, it may be difficult for people with slow connections to view. Here are some tips for making your images smaller.

Reduce the dimensions. In Paint Shop Pro ( available free from Jasc ), go to Image->Resize, and decrease the dimensions. Make sure that "Maintain aspect ratio" is selected so the image doesn't get distorted.
Reduce the color depth. In Paint Shop Pro, click Colors->Count colors used. Then find the closest number that you can decrease this to in Colors->Decrease Color Depth. Human eyes are not able to pick up 100,000 different colors, so decreasing to 64,000 causes no noticable difference. Be careful though, decreasing to much can result in a noticable difference.

Q: I made a mistake, what do I do now?
A: If you go to 'Manage Pictures', you will see that you need the password for DanielleAndJeremy in order to make modications. This is to prevent malicious people from coming in and removing pictures. Please send an email to Andy and let him know what changes you want made. He will be happy to make them for you.
