Various possibilities exist in getting up here (but none are particularly easy). Either one can drive all the way, fly to Syracuse (or NYC) and drive from there, or take the train to Utica and then drive (or maybe we will have a van pick up).
Note that we have contacted the local travel agency in Lowville who has provided us with the airport and train details. Please do not hesitate to call or email Kristen or Tammy at Journey's Unlimited to help you make your plane, car and train reservations, as they can steer you in a convenient travel route, especially for flights. You can contact them at: 1-800-613-1954. Email them at: Journeys@northnet.org .

Airport Info
Two airports connect to the area easily. The main airport is Syracuse International.
The following airlines fly there:
American, Continental, US Air & Jet Blue.
To those of you flying from New York City's airports, you will be interested in the following:
US Air flies from LaGuardia airport, non-stop (on prop planes). They are going to be offering competitive rates now that Jet Blue will be flying in to Syracuse as of May.
American & Jet Blue flies from Kennedy Airport.
Jet blue offers a $49 one-way fare, all of their planes are jets and are new. Connect to the JetBlue web page for more details.
Continental flies out of Newark.
Also, the Utica airport (which is a smaller airport) is now getting direct flights on Continental from JFK.
Both the Syracuse and Utica airports have the major rental car companies at the airport to rent cars.
Train Schedules
Amtrak goes to Utica from NY Penn station. The trip is lovely as the train follows the Hudson River to Albany. However, with the recent airline competition to the area, it is not as economical as it once was. The train tends to run off schedule as well, making it less reliable. Also, the rental car companies do not offer pick-ups from the Utica train station. We would be happy to make arrangements to pick people up at the station though if we know what train you are arriving on.
